Newnex has announced the new USB 3.1 5Gbps Fiber Optic Repeater, FireNEXTM-5000C as the upgrade model of the current 4-port USB optical repeater FireNEXTM-5000Plus.

By upgrading the upstream port from USB-B to USB-C, FireNEXTM-5000C gives users a more friendly experience to work with different types of host computers. For example, one can use any standard USB C to C cable to connect with a laptop that only comes with USB-C ports, and use a USB-A to C cable with a desktop or server computer that USB-A ports are more often to be available.

Additionally, with the added screw locking mechanism that complies with USB-IF standard, the USB-C port will not only increase the repeater’s usability but also ensure a more reliable connection between the cable and the repeater unit.

Similar to FireNEXTM-5000Plus, FireNEXTM-5000C comes with one Local Unit and one Remote Unit. The Local Unit comes with one USB-C upstream port and the Remote Unit comes with four USB-A downstream ports. Via one single duplex fiber cable, the FireNEXTM-5000C repeater system is capable of extending a full bandwidth of USB 5Gbps data channel up to 200 meters (656 ft.).

FireNEXTM-5000C supports all major OS: Windows, Mac and Linux with backward compatibility to USB 2.0/1.1 peripherals such as microphone, keyboard and mouse.

Featured with extruded metal enclosure and surface mounting bracket, FireNEXTM-5000C is the ideal solution to remotely extend your USB connectivity for the professional applications such as machine vision, medical imaging, pro AV, etc.
